Supervision
Supervision offers a reflective and supportive space to strengthen practice, wellbeing, and professional confidence.
This work is for nurses, health and therapeutic practitioners, community-based kaimahi, and educators working in complex and often demanding environments. It is a space to pause, think, and reconnect with your work in a way that supports both you and those you serve.
Who Supervision is for
Supervision is for people working in roles where there is responsibility for others, and where the work can carry emotional, ethical, or systemic complexity.
This includes nurses, practitioners in helping professions, educators, and those working within community and social services — particularly where there is exposure to trauma, distress, loss, or inequity.
It can be especially helpful if you are navigating complex systems, carrying responsibility for others’ wellbeing, or wanting a space that supports both your professional practice and your own sustainability.
What Supervision Offers
Supervision provides a reflective space to think more clearly about your work and your experience within it.
Sessions may support you to explore practice, relationships, and decision-making, while also attending to your own wellbeing. There is space to consider boundaries, values, and ethics, and to integrate theory, lived experience, and the realities of your working environment.
The process supports greater clarity, confidence, and steadiness in your role, while recognising the ongoing interaction between personal and professional experience.
Supervision is collaborative and reflective rather than directive. It may include thoughtful discussion, gentle questioning, and linking experience with relevant frameworks or evidence, with the pace guided by your needs and context.
Ways to work together
Supervision is available both individually and within organisations. Sessions are usually held online, with timing and frequency agreed together.
Individual Supervision
Individual supervision offers a one-to-one reflective space tailored to your role and experience. Sessions may focus on clinical work, professional identity, emotional impact, ethical challenges, and sustaining yourself in the work over time.
Organisational Supervision
Organisational supervision is arranged in collaboration with teams or services. These arrangements are designed to support staff wellbeing while maintaining clear ethical boundaries. Supervision is not linked to performance management, and there is no reporting on session content.
How it Works
Supervision begins with an initial conversation to check whether the fit feels right and to clarify expectations, scope, and boundaries. There is no obligation to continue beyond this point.
If you choose to proceed, sessions are scheduled by agreement and typically take place monthly or as needed.
Supervision is a confidential and ethically held space. Clear boundaries help ensure the work remains safe, purposeful, and appropriate. This includes understanding the limits of confidentiality where there is serious risk or ethical obligation.
