While I have training and academic credentials to do this work, I know from my own experience of seeking help that it’s not only what people know, or their certificates, that makes a difference.

It is their presence and energy, their ability to listen, and their commitment to understanding. I wanted to feel their compassion — but mostly their hope and drive to support me to build my capacity to do something for myself. I wanted to feel challenged at times, and I wanted that person to work for me as if it was their money they were spending, or their timeframe and urgency that the funded sessions were delivered to meet.

I needed to be able to trust them with my most intimate personal and family experiences.

I am a Specialist Mental Health Nurse and experienced Therapist supporting people who experience trauma, grief, family challenges, and complex life situations. I have supported individuals, families, and communities through events such as earthquakes, serious and advanced illness of a family member, the death of someone close by suicide, and the long-term impact of childhood trauma.

I aim to offer the quality of connection that I too have sought.
